To build, develop and maintain a community center in the Greater Jefferson area and to foster local community member involvement in the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of activities, services, and programs that meet the intergenerational and diverse needs of all community members.

The GJCC will continue to seek increased community involvement, expecially from young families, youth and seniors.
The GJCC will encourage the development and implementation by community members of programs and activities that meet the needs of underserved groups in the community.
The GJCC will facilitate the development and implementation of activities, services, and programs for children, youth, and seniors.
The GJCC will serve as a facility for community programs, services, and activities.
The GJCC will host activities, services, and programs that are designed to meet the needs of all ages.

Strategies for Information Dessemination:
Provide information to the Greater Jefferson Community via THE CENTERLINE newsletter, the Jefferson Together! Newsletter, the Jefferson Review, and individual mailings to residents.
Place posters in community buildings, public and private.
Send notices to youth groups, schools, churches, community boards, and businesses regarding GJCC needs and progress.
Use a variety of medium to collect input from citizens and to keep them aware of project progress, including dinners, phone contacts, and home visits.
Strategies for Community Based Processes:
Expand a diverse group of community members in the development and operation of GJCC.
Expand involvement of youth in development and operation of the center.
Collaborate with governmental bodies and boards within the community to facilitate coordination.
Implement a process for conflict resolution.
Seek input from other communities regarding processes used in building, designing programs, or operating the community center.
Continue to involve local citizens in the process of furnishing and operating the temporary center and the financing, building and operation of a new center.
